Our Ethos
—
Small-batch Artisanal Production
To combat overproduction and wastage in the jewelry industry, we focus on small-batch production and most of our items are made-to-order just for you. Each and every one of our pieces is made intentionally and thoughtfully with the utmost care.
Quality & Craftsmanship
We place an utmost focus on exceptional quality and craftsmanship so that our jewelry can be passed down for generations.
Ethical Conflict-free Diamonds
Our lab-grown diamonds and natural gemstones are sustainably sourced and produced, and our natural diamonds are conflict-free, ethically mined and in compliance with both the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties (SoW). This means that on top of being conflict-free, the diamonds were handled in accordance with responsible business practices related to human and labor rights, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption.
Fairmined & Recycled Gold
We also use fairmined and recycled gold to achieve a balance between ethicality and environmental conservation, by promoting positive change and decreasing negative impacts in the mining industry. Read about our approach here.
RJC Compliance
We do our due diligence, and work exclusively with artisans and businesses who share our commitment to fair wages, safe working conditions and sustainable practices. The businesses we work with are either RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) certified and/or part of the United Nations Global Compact.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
Our boxes and paper products are produced from recycled paper, water-based glue, and FSC®-certified cardboard and wood.
The FSC® label means that the material used originates from an FSC®-forest where no more wood is felled than the forest can manage to reproduce, where the animal and plant life in the forests is protected, and the forest workers are trained, have proper safety equipment and receive a fair wage.
Our faux suede jewelry pouches are made from rPET — an eco-friendly material made from recycled plastic, and our foam inserts are made of tall oil which is a sustainable by-product of kraft pulp manufacturing.
We use recycled paper and materials wherever we can to reduce our environmental impact.
Trees for the Future
Sustainability isn’t just about the environment. It’s also about social responsibility. We partner with Trees for the Future, which means that when you purchase a Foss and Harper piece, you contribute to breaking the cycle of hunger, poverty, and environmental destruction in developing communities.
Inclusivity & Diversity
We embrace the diversity of humanity and strongly believe in inclusiveness. This is why we offer inclusive sizing — ring sizes including hard-to-find sizes from 2 to 16, as well as bracelets and necklaces available in 3 different sizes. We believe representation is important and aim to feature our jewelry on a diverse range of models. It is our hope that everyone feels welcome and beautiful in our jewelry.
Sustainable Jewelry Capsule
Our jewelry is designed to be layered together and styled in multiple ways, while still retaining a cohesive feel. By investing in a few quality Foss and Harper pieces, one is able to create a multitude of different looks.
The multifunctionality of our jewelry is part of our commitment to sustainability — we believe that it is possible to balance luxury with conscious buying and responsible consumption.
